FAQs

  • Biochar is a stable carbon material made from any plant-based biomass. Let’s break that down —

The origin carbon-based biomass is pyrolyzed instead of being burned or rotting — this is a process that superheats the material in the absence of oxygen. Doing this ensures that there are no any contaminatory gases that would cause it to set on fire (combustion), therefore basically sealing in the carbon-content of that original material within the resulting biochar (stabilizing the carbon).

This makes the material resistant to breaking down and releasing its carbon content back into the air and turning into atmospheric carbon dioxide.

  • Glanris’ Biocarbon is a designer biochar.

We have developed several patented processes to set us apart from typical biochar in both the functionality of our biochar as well as how much energy we use to make our biochar.

Our Biocarbon biochar is also made from the world’s largest ag-waste — giving Glanris a massive raw supply incomparable to any other biochar.

Biocarbon is the Swiss Army knife of biochars – unlike traditional wood or coal biochars — we have dedicated functionality apart from just being put back in the ground and functioning solely carbon sequestration technology.

  • Think of carbon dioxide removal (CDR) like locking a precious item in a safety deposit box or a well-guarded vault.

The process involved in creating biochar stabilizes the carbon content — making that carbon resistant to breaking down and essentially removing it from the Carbon Cycle.

Traditionally following the Carbon Cycle’s natural progression, thaLearn how Glanris’ technology is the fastest way to scale carbon dioxide removal →t original biomass would break down or burn – releasing its carbon content creating atmospheric carbon dioxide. Since this cycle is a closed loop, sequestering that carbon means actively removing CO2 from the atmosphere.

  • Glanris Biocarbon uniquely removes both metals and organic contaminants from water. We are a drop-in solution for existing traditional filtration media – and if you need to remove metals, we’re a fraction of the price of ion exchange.

You can feel confident in our ability to filter out metals from your water like Lead, Iron, Copper, Zinc, and more. We are also drinking water certified at NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 standards by IAPMO.
